Hi everyone! I’m back! (Not that I had ever left it’s just I haven’t posted in awhile.) First of all I will start by sharing a recipe, a cookie recipe. Peeked your interest right?
Rainbow Drop Cookie Recipe
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. coconut sugar
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. gelatin
1/3 c. arrowroot flour
1/3 c. coconut flour
1/3 c. cassava flour
1/2 c. rainbow drops
Preheat oven to 350F. In a separate mixing bowl combine the dry ingredients (flours, salt, baking soda, gelatin) and whisk. Melt butter and add in the sugars and vanilla, combine thoroughly. Fold in the rainbow drops. Place a full teaspoon size of dough onto baking sheet. Cookies bake for 10-12 min. Recipe makes approx. 2 dozen 2inch in diameter cookies.
Now that we got that out of the way we can move onto more interesting stuff… like building chicken coops!
Exciting times! To answer some of your questions you might have; Yes we already have a coop. No we are not getting rid of that coop. Yes we are getting more chickens. The whole reason behind it is to use it as a pullet coop. For those of you who are unsure what a pullet is;
Pullet: female chicken under one year of age.
Cool uh?! Anyway, back to the topic at hand. We also would like to use the new coop as breeding quarters for our Silver Leghorns and my sisters newly acquired breed, the Svart Hona. It is also our plan to show chickens at the MI State Fair or other poultry shows in the state. In that case we would use the coop for the birds we would be bringing to Fairs or poultry shows. We plan to have it finished before winter to be ready for use in the spring.
And before I end this post, this is for all of you JJ fans out there. FYI he’s a Partridge Rock/Silver Leghorn mix.
Have a great week!!
